Rohnert Park home burglary suspect arrested

ROHNERT PARK, Calif.

Joann Marie Alley, 51, of Rohnert Park was arrested on Friday morning while returning to a vehicle connected to a burglary on Thursday in the 800 block of Santa Dorotea Circle.

The burglary happened at around 4 p.m. and police responded when a neighbor reported seeing a suspicious person in the side yard of another house.

The neighbor told police that he saw the person leave through the garage, and provided police with a description of the person's vehicle.

When the residents of the home returned, they confirmed that their house had been burglarized.

Police located the vehicle described by the neighbor at around 3 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Rodeway Inn at 6288 Redwood Drive in Rohnert Park.

Police found the suspect entering the vehicle later that morning and arrested her.

Police conducted several probation searches in both Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa to locate the stolen property, and said they were able to recover several items belonging to the victim.

Evidence was also uncovered linking Alley to two other burglaries in Rohnert Park, police said.

Alley was booked into Sonoma County Jail for residential burglary and drug offenses, police said.
