Crews began putting up barricades along part of the popular Mission District park ahead of a $13.2 million renovation project that will take 14-months to complete.
The north half of the park will be closed for seven months. Once work is done there, the southern half will close for the next seven months.
The renovation work will include new tennis courts, basketball courts and replacement of the park's three outdated bathrooms.
