ABC7's Cheryl Jennings flew to Doha, Qatar as the family arrived at the airport to start their journey back home and spoke to them about what they experienced in Kabul.

Roots of Peace is also hoping to evacuate more Afghan employees who may be at risk, especially women.

"Women who've gone out there, started their own businesses, looked to Roots of Peace as a role model and hired 80 women," said Roots of Peace founder Heidi Kuhn. "Well, those women are now highly at risk. They're being hunted. They're running from home to home. I am not going to give up on those additional 34 Afghans who are most at risk."
