Accessories for tech devices make great holiday gifts
Smartphones, tablets and video game systems rank high on many gift lists this holiday. But, as with high tech devices, you'll need accessories to enhance it.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Smartphones, tablets and video game systems rank high on many gift lists this holiday. But, as with high tech devices, you'll need accessories to enhance it.

Here are a few to consider that could also make some affordable gift options.

Cracking the screen of a smartphone can be a frustrating experience. A phone case can help. A phone case from San Francisco-based Moshi is meant to withstand being dropped from four feet high.

"This case is military standard grade drop tested. So, this means we've tested it with the third party by dropping it 26 different times on concrete," said Tammy Lee with Moshi.

The iGlaze Luxe retails for $44.95. Other Moshi cases are available in various styles and can be paired with matching lightning cables. The iGlaze Ion also doubles as a battery charger and can charge simultaneously both the phone and battery pack in less than three hours. It retails for $99.95.

There is also a GoPro, which can attach to a chest mount harness.

"It's popular to put on babies or yourself if you're walking around town," said Antony Varghese with Best Buy.

GoPro head strap mounts are also available. The chest and head mounts retail for under $40.

Other popular accessories include headphones for video games and routers to improve Internet strength.

Those with tablets can add a flexible hinge and keyboard to convert it into a laptop. You can use it as just a case for added protection or flip it around and it becomes a stand. Also, you can put it in book mode if you just want to read.

The Slimbook Pro from Zagg retails for $140.

And anyone who's into posting selfies will love having a selfie stick.

"Selfie sticks are always hot, always popular," said Varhese.

Selfie sticks retail from $10 to $20.
