LIVERMORE, Calif. (KGO) -- Recent storms have left Bay Area roads full of potholes, causing damage to cars delays for drivers as Caltrans crews worked to repair the problem spots Tuesday morning.

The morning commute on Westbound I-580 was brought to a standstill as those crews shut down two lanes to fill potholes.

Potholes can cause flat rims, and alignment issues for drivers. "They've been mad because they keep getting so many blowouts. I've read 15 customers in the last two weeks with bent rims they've been mad about," Ken's Tire Service Owner John Limtiato told ABC7 News.

Customers mostly complain about the Altamont Pass, which Caltrans says is due to be repaved soon. That stretch of I-580 takes a beating due to all the truck traffic.
