Antioch police will be scheduling monthly "Coffee with the Cops" events throughout the city beginning this month in an effort to improve communication between police and the citizens they serve.

The casual events will be an opportunity for members of the public to meet one-on-one with police command staff about issues that concern them, police reported. Police also intend to focus the meetings on enhancing the city's Neighborhood Watch programs.

The fist "Coffee with the Cops" meeting will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saxby's Coffee, located at 5009 Lone Tree Way, Suite A. Lt. John Vanderklugt and members of the Antioch Crime Prevention Commission will be available to speak with members of the public and answer questions.
