Power restored to most of Bay Area

Most of the approximately 1,000 Bay Area Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers without power today due to storms passing through the region will have power restored late this afternoon, a company spokesman said.

Weather-related outages caused by downed trees and power lines have continued since a rainy, windy weather system passed through Friday, PG&E spokesman Brian Swanson said.

As of about 10 a.m., power was still out for 150 customers in the North Bay, 400 in the South Bay, 125 in the Peninsula, 25 in San Francisco, and 300 in the East Bay, Swanson said.

"We hope to make steady progress throughout the day," he said.
