Deputy Steve Paris lost control of his car on Highway 29 in St. Helena just after midnight. CHP says he struck another deputy's vehicle and plowed into a tree, bursting into flames. The second sheriff's deputy was only slightly hurt. Both were headed to a stabbing in Bothe State Park.
