The SUV apparently traveled off Sage Canyon Road into Lake Hennessey shortly after 7 a.m.
When emergency personnel arrived, the SUV was completely submerged but the driver had managed to reach land and refused medical treatment, Cal Fire reported.
What caused the driver to veer off the road and into the lake remains under investigation.
