Richmond police probe driver shooting
RICHMOND, CA The bullet struck Arthur Lee Clark in the head shortly before 10
p.m. Sunday, but he managed to drive a mile before crashing into a
boathouse. His passenger was not hurt.
Police say Clark's actions were heroic because he appeared to
have kept driving after the shooting to get his passenger as far
from danger as possible.
No arrests have been made.
Relatives say Clark was a retired San Francisco bus driver who
had been caring for his ailing wife until she died of kidney
failure two weeks ago. The family now must plan another funeral.
