Budget stalemate continues to day 67

Despite a 67-day budget stalemate, the state Senate cancelled Friday's session.

Republicans said they were ready to unveil a new comprimise spending plan, but the legislature's legal councel office did not complete its review of the budget in time.

Saturday marks the latest California has gone into a fiscal year without a spending plan signed by the governor.
