Service has been restored to a portion of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail system affected by a disruption this morning, a VTA spokesman said.

A power surge stopped service between the Alum Rock and Hostetter stations earlier today. The cause of the surge has not yet been determined, spokesman Kevin Wilson said.

Delays were avoided by servicing passengers with a bus bridge that was set up around 6 a.m.
