The accident happened around 10:40 p.m. on the southbound Interstate Highway 280 connector ramp to southbound state Highway 87, CHP Officer Marc Johnston said.
Preliminary reports indicate Abundiz was ejected from a Chevrolet pickup truck that collided with a Saab, said CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano.
The San Jose man was killed in the crash.
There were no other reports of injuries.
