Officers responded to a shooting in the 9800 block of Walnut Avenue in east Oakland at about 10:45 p.m.
A man was found shot in the neck and was taken to a local hospital where he was in critical condition as of 6 a.m., according to police.
No suspects were arrested and the case remains under investigation.
