SWAT responds to barricaded suspect

GUERNEVILLE, CA

Sheriff's Capt. Matt McCaffrey said the victim was sitting in a convertible at Mill and Fifth streets around 12:30 p.m. when the arrow shot from the residence pierced the top of the vehicle and struck the victim in the side of the head. The man suffered minor injuries, McCaffrey said.

Residents of the Mill Street residence said the shooter might also have recently purchased a firearm, McCaffrey said.

Homes in the immediate area have been evacuated, McCaffrey said.

"There are no hostages. We're in no hurry to bust the door down.

Time is on our side," McCaffrey said.

The shooter faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon or attempted murder, McCaffrey said. It's unknown, however, whether the shooting was intentional, McCaffrey said.
