Plane crashes into river; Two injured

SALINAS, CA

The plane reportedly crashed at about 3:50 p.m. in the Salinas River between River Road and Spence Road, according to the sheriff's office.

The California Highway Patrol and CALSTAR located the crash site and directed incoming emergency personnel into the area.

Shortly afterward, sheriff's deputies and medical personnel were able to make their way to the two patients, who were airlifted to hospitals in San Jose for treatment.
