Driver arrested after Hwy. 280 pursuit

The pursuit began when San Francisco police tried to stop what appeared to be a stolen vehicle near the intersection of Mission Street and Whipple Avenue, CHP Officer Shawn Chase said.

The suspect then headed down U.S. Highway 101, and the CHP got involved near the connector ramp from Highway 101 to Interstate Highway 280, Chase said.

The pursuit ended at about 2 p.m. on the San Jose Avenue offramp from Highway 280, Chase said.

The suspect caused several traffic collisions during the pursuit, but nothing that involved major injuries or damage, Chase said.
