Circuit City going out of business early

Circuit City is going out of business Sunday night, much earlier than planned. The company expected to stay open until March 31st but it has run out of merchandise.

Shoppers could not resist the discounts Circuit City has been offering, including up to 90 percent on some items.

One location in San Francisco has nothing left to sell except the fixtures.

Circuit City operated 600 stores nationwide and about two dozen of them were in the Bay Area.

38,000 employees will lose their jobs because of the liquidation.
