About the Wings of Song:
Wings of Song is a women's chorus, based in Marin County that has been singing for the community since 1987. Founded by Artistic Director, Jan Pedersen Schiff, membership is open to all women who love to sing. The ensemble attracts singers of all ages and musical backgrounds, and has grown through the years to a chorus of over 50 voices. They enjoy performing a wide variety of repertoire, from new compositions and standard classical literature, to folk songs, show tunes, and popular standards. A primary focus throughout the years has been performing for the elderly. The singers continue to be dedicated to their original purpose, that of "touching hearts…uplifting spirits". In recent years, Wings of Song has performed in Bremen, Germany, for the Choir Olympics, and in Carnegie Hall, with Jan Pedersen Schiff as the guest conductor. Their upcoming Spring Concert for the general public is scheduled for May 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Mt. Tamalpais Church in Mill Valley. Wings of Song is a member chorus of the nonprofit organization, SingersMarin, which today serves both youth and adults.
