Instructions for creating a table centerpiece:
- Pick a container that is at least 8 inches wide
- Pick 4 plants (We used snapdragons, zinnia, lobelia, petunia)
- Put a keeper stopper over the hole at the bottom of the pottery
- Add soil and Sure Start fertilizer
- Tuck in taller plants in the center, lower plants on the outside edges
- Cover with green moss
- Water every other day
Sloat Garden Center started in 1958 as part of G.E.T. Department Store. The first store was located at the corner of 34th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. In 1968 the store moved to a larger location and the name was changed to Sloat Garden Center. Sloat Garden Center has grown to 10 stores serving San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, and most recently, San Mateo County.
