Janitors held protest infront of Pixar

They're upset at what they say is the firing of 40 percent of the janitorial staff by a /*Pixar*/ contractor.

The workers say the company, Preferred Building Services, pays their janitors just $9.25 an hour and has laid off nine of the 21 who worked at Pixar.

"Forty percent of the janitors were laid off in January when Pixar switched contractors to preferred building services which has cut wages to $9.25 and hour and cut health care," said organizer Sylvia Ruiz.

Pixar says it has no comment since this dispute is between the other two parties, and Preferred Building Services has not yet returned our call.

Pixar is owned by /*ABC7*/'s parent company /*Disney*/.
