H1N1 fears cancel Stanford kissing event

Because of fears of the /*H1N1*/ swine flu, school officials have cancelled the kissing tradition that dates back to the 19th century.

The event typically has seniors giving one or more freshmen a kiss in the main quad during the first full moon of the school year.

The full moon event has survived bad breath, cold sores, even regular flu, but now the swine flu has ground it to a halt.
