Lanes one, two and three of Highway 880 at Jackson Street were closed at about 2:35 p.m. as crews made emergency repairs to the sinkhole, CHP Officer Ralf Caggiano said.
Additionally, smaller potholes reported south of Jackson Street caused a brief closure of all southbound lanes between 6:52 p.m. and 7:11 p.m., Caggiano said. However, all lanes of the highway were open by about 7:45 p.m.
Caggiano said it appears weather contributed to creating the sinkhole.
