Survey shows Americans dissatisfied with jobs

A new survey by the Conference Board research group found that only 45 percent of Americans are satisfied with their work. That is down from 49 percent in 2008 and the lowest level ever recorded by the group in more than 22 years of doing the survey.

When the survey was done for the first time in 1987, 61 percent of Americans were happy with their jobs.

The report says the recession is partly to blame. Other reasons are that fewer people are finding their jobs interesting and soaring health care costs are taking away from take-home pay.
