OAKLAND, CA --
An East Bay family learned Wednesday that relatives who were working in Haiti are safe.Walter Riley is an attorney in Oakland and chair of the the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund, an East Bay non-profit.
He and his wife, Barbara Rhine, were visiting Haiti on a relief mission. Their daughter Selena Rhine is with them. They managed to make contact with their family around 4 p.m. Wednesday to say they were okay.
