The warning includes the City of Morgan Hill and Santa Cruz County and is in effect until 2:30 p.m.
At 2:02 p.m., National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado moving northeast at 35 mph.
Weather officials say the storm may produce quarter-size hail.
