The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is expected to consider a proposal that would require cell phone retailers to list the radiation level of every phone sold in the city.

The proposal would require retails to list exactly how much radio frequency energy a person absorbs when talking on a specific cell phone in the same location where a phone's price and other features are listed.

If approved the law would go into effect on Dec. 17. Retailers who broke the law would face fines of up to $500 per violation.
