The Maxine Hall Community Health Clinic primarily serves the African American community in the city's Western Addition neighborhood. The clinic has direct video-conferencing links to specialists at San Francisco General and UCSF.
They enable patients to talk to specialists without ever leaving the clinic.

"We saw over many years of working on this issue, that really, the wave of the future was community health centers because it had proximity to where people live, culturally comfortable for them to come, to have something that was closer to home," she said.
Pelosi was also there to promote the health care overhaul approved by Congress earlier this year.
