21-year-old Varun Sivaram, along with just 31 other American students, will enter Oxford University next October.
Sivarum, who is from Saratoga, is a senior majoring in physics and international relations. He is also the chair of the undergraduate senate and captain of an Indian dance team.
The scholarships, worth $50,000 a year, were announced Sunday morning.
Each scholar was selected on the basis of high academic achievement, personal integrity, and leadership potential.
