Off-limits scenic spot in SJ may open to public
SAN JOSE, Calif. The peak was home to Almaden Air Force Station, and has been closed for three decades. On Thursday, the government agency that owns the land will vote on a plan to allow visits with permits and docents in a couple of years, with full access in six years.
Officials need to first remove old military buildings and secure millions more in funding.
