The fire department received a call at 5:57 a.m. reporting a four-vehicle crash near the intersection of Lake Merced and Font boulevards.
Three people were transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of their injuries, the dispatcher said, although the extent of their injuries was unknown.
The Taraval Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the area, did not yet have any more information about the crash.
