According to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, two horses from Sonoma County participated in a show in Utah where the outbreak of equine virus is believed to have originated. Those horses have been quarantined, but some owners aren't taking any chances.
The virus is highly contagious and is spread through touch, air, or shared food or water.
