Alaska Airlines is going high-tech. The airline has received FAA approval to replace all of its pilot flight manuals with iPads.

The iPads will hold the same data as the paper manual flights. The move will free up space in carry-on bags for pilots and lighten their load by more than 20 pounds.

Alaska is the first airline to use the iPad for this purpose.
