A vehicle that was carjacked in Oakland early this morning was quickly found, along with two suspects, after a cellphone with GPS capabilities helped police track down the stolen car, a police officer said.

The carjacking was reported in the 1700 block of East 23rd Street at 4:13 a.m., Officer Trent Thompson said.

There was a cellphone in the car that had a global positioning system, which led police to the vehicle. Two suspects were taken into custody and a firearm was recovered, Thompson said.

The carjacking victim was uninjured.
