City officials are in the process of putting up signs that lower school zone speeds to fifteen miles per hour.
The new limit applies to one-lane streets near all city schools.
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee says the speed limit change helps protect our "most-precious resource."
The program includes over 200 city schools and approximately 1,000 signs.
