Firefighters will be sporting pink uniforms Monday through Oct. 23 as a show of support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which runs through October, fire officials said.
For the first year in the district's history, fire crews are participating in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure "Passionately Pink for the Cure" campaign, officials said.
Fire Chief Marc Revere, with support from the board of directors and fire district members, has changed uniforms for the week. This follows the district's decision earlier this month to designate October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The district will partner with the Marin Professional Firefighters and the International Association of Firefighters to raise awareness about breast cancer.
