The Oakland Ballet Company has decided to delay the launch of its spring season due to a $90,000 shortfall in its annual budget.

Board members tell the Oakland Tribune that fund raising ticket sales from the 2011 "Nutcracker" performance came up short. The spring program was scheduled to begin on May 18. Its new launch will be determined after the annual benefit gala on May 5 at Kaiser Center Auditorium.
