Tim Morris was shocked when he received the document because his dog Mozart died two years ago. "I opened it up and looked at it and I just laughed. I thought it was a joke at first and it turns out it's real," Morris said.
What also amazed Morris is that if Mozart were still alive he would have been 19-years-old this year and eligible to vote if he were human.
It turns out the document came from a private non-profit group that tries to register voters. The organization says it purchases mailing lists from vendors and tries to check every name, but admits that some fall through the cracks.
The Board of Elections says they received similar complaints.
