Several foie gras providers had asked for a temporary stay until the battle over the ban is settled in a California court. The foie gras makers call the law unconstitutionally vague and say it's costing them $11,000 a day in lost revenue.
But a district court judge in Los Angeles ruled that doesn't rise to the emergency level required for a stay. The judge says he'll hear the case on August 29.
