Cheryl Burke hosts wheelchair dance competition

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.

It's a wheelchair dance competition, involving people with spinal cord injuries from all over the country. They competed Friday night at Burke's dance studio in Mountain View.

The non-profit "American DanceWheels Foundation" is working with the V.A. Palo Alto Hospital to research the benefits of wheelchair dancing as part of rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries. Wheelchair dancers say it helps them improve their breathing and ease depression.

Winners get tickets to "Dancing With The Stars" which starts Sept. 24th at 8 p.m. here on ABC7.
