The City of San Jose is planning a major cleanup Monday at a homeless encampment along the Guadalupe River.

The homeless encampment near Spring Street just south of the airport significantly grew in January after an encampment on the east side of the river was cleaned out by Caltrans.

The city says about 100 people now live at the site.

In February, outreach teams began notifying the group of the upcoming cleanup effort.
