Mom punishes daughter with thrift shop clothing

UTAH

In Utah, a teacher spoke with the woman about her 10-year-old daughter, Kaylee, bullying another student for the way she dressed. When talking to her didn't work, mom decided to show her.

She bought $50 worth of unflattering second-hand clothes and made Kaylee wear them to school.

"She really needs to know that this had such an effect on someone else's life, that she has to feel how that felt to know that it was wrong," her mom said.

Kaylee says she's learned her lesson and won't bully anymore, but some child psychologists say the tactic could leave children humiliated and angry and that a better way to help prevent bullying is to teach kids empathy by having them volunteer to help those in need.
