Armed robbery at Palo Alto post office investigated

PALO ALTO, Calif.

Officials say their 24-hour dispatch center received a 911 call about an armed robbery at the Palo Alto Post Office at 2085 East Bayshore Road on Tuesday. The two victims, a married couple in their fifties, had immediately returned home after the robbery and called police there since neither had been carrying a cellphone at the time of the crime.

The victims described the suspect with the handgun as a black male, about 30-years-old, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark-sleeved shirt and dark pants, and was armed with a black handgun. A sketch of this suspect was released on Saturday.

His accomplice is described as a black male, between 20 and 30 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and a hat with a brim facing forward.
