Woman ticketed for driving wearing Google Glass

SAN DIEGO, Calif.

Cecilia Abadie uploaded a photo of her ticket on Google Plus. And while the main item on the ticket is for speeding, it also describes her violation as "driving with monitor visible to driver," referencing Google Glass.

"'This is not illegal,' I said. 'Yes,' he said, 'Yes it actually is illegal.' So at that point, I got very shocked. I never heard it was illegal in California before," said Abadie.

A state ordinance bans viewing monitors in a driver's field of vision but without a court ruling, it is unclear whether this law applies to Google Glass.

Abadie says she has lawyers who have offered to fight the ticket for free.
