Scientists say the massive solar flare erupted Monday, emitting solar winds at almost 4.5 million miles per hour.
So far, it's the most powerful one of the year.
NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, which keeps a constant watch on the sun, captured the amazing images of the event.
