A park ranger found the three great horned owl nestlings on the ground Saturday at the base of a eucalyptus tree in a San Mateo County park.
Staffers believe their nest fell apart.
Thursday night, an arborist will try to place the owlets in a new nest, 30- 40 feet up in the same tree. Other volunteers will play a recording of an owlet cry, to try to lure their parents back.
