SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- At Fisherman's Wharf, fish sales off boats started last weekend.
The fishing company involved says it was a long process, requiring federal and state permits and approval from San Francisco Supervisors.
"I always like being able to share really good fish with people and sometimes its kinda hard to do that when you sell to the wholesalers," said Giuseppe Pennisi, a fisherman.
"Something you don't really come across too often and it's pretty difficult to get fish that's that fresh around here," said Steve Busichio, a Fish Buyer
There's no set schedule for sales but the fishing company is posting sale dates online.
