CHICAGO -- Feeling your waistline getting wider? A new survey by CareerBuilder.com found many Americans blame work for helping them pack on the pounds.
The freebie table, where people bring extra treats to work like cookies and candy, got the most blame.
How one commutes to work could be to blame as well. The study found people who drive through neighborhoods with lots of drive-thrus and fast food restaurants are more likely to stop at them.
Others blame vending machines at work, with all those packaged snacks that are high in calories and low in nutrients.
To lose weight, stop taking the elevator. Experts say taking the stairs adds value calorie-burning steps to your day.
And on-the-job stress is another. Stress hormone cortisol triggers sugar cravings and fat that is stored around the midsection.
