STOCKTON, Calif. (KGO) -- Randall Saito, described as possessing the qualities of a "classic serial killer" was apprehended in Stockton Wednesday morning. The cabbie who drove Saito around Tuesday says she was 100 percent sure she picked him up.

The woman, who wanted to protect her identity, said she recognized him and told her co-workers there was no way she'd give him another ride.

A man acquitted of a 1979 murder by reason of insanity escaped from a psychiatric hospital in Hawaii on Sunday, prompting a massive manhunt in the Bay Area.

"I told the dispatch this morning, I said, 'I'm not, if he calls for me, I don't want nothing to do with that because he's the guy.' And my boss called and he said, 'Are you sure?' and I said, 'I'm 100% sure. I'm 100%'," the cabbie said.

That driver's certainty helped lead police to the suspected killer.
