PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Facebook is reportedly building a stand-alone app that will let users interact and communicate anonymously.

The move comes shortly after the company was criticized for its real name policy requiring users to use their legal names on their profiles.

There is no word yet on what the app would be called or whether it's intended to be a direct competitor to other anonymous messaging apps like Secret and Whisper.
